7 Stunning Ways to Style Your Entryway

June 28, 2019
Modern entryway with a black door, white storage bench with cushions and mustard throw, wooden cabinet with geometric design, round mirror, and indoor plant.

You only get one chance to make a first impression and your entryway is the first impression of your home. Have a small space to work with? Here are 7 fun, great-looking and very affordable ideas to style your entryway.

1. Incorporate Seating

Cozy entryway with a wooden storage bench featuring lift-up seat, blue cabinet with wicker drawers, black and white striped rug, and wall decor including a large clock and calendar.

Adding a bench to your entryway is a great option for extra seating and storage space. A bench gives you and your family a place to take off your shoes as well as a place to store your blankets, scarves & mittens.

2. Hang a Mirror

Round wall mirror with a thin wooden frame mounted on a black wall, suitable for modern home decor and interior design.
A wall mirror opens up your entryway and reflects light.

A mirror opens up space and reflects light. It’s perfect for taking a final peek at yourself before heading out the door!

3. Pick a Statement Piece

Gray wooden cabinet with cream-framed glass doors, featuring black metal handles, decorative items inside, and a plant and tray on top.

Wow your guests during that first impression with a show-stopping statement piece like an accent cabinet or server. Not only will these pieces immediately catch your guests’ eyes, but they also serve the function of additional storage space. Need a place to keep your keys? Place a bowl on the top of the server or cabinet.

4. Pendant Lighting

Brighten a small room with a clean pendant design like my Narduk Pendant.

A hanging pendant adds height to your room, making it feel bigger while also adding a pop of style. Pendant lights are great for small rooms because they don’t take up a lot of space and the soft light helps to create a welcoming atmosphere for your guests!

5. Add Hooks or a Wall Shelf

Wall-mounted black metal wire organizer with six compartments and hooks, topped with a white ceramic vase with greenery and a wooden calendar showing February 12. A small chalkboard above reads "feb 18th game night!"
Wall hooks are an easy storage idea to keep coats and bags organized.

Wall hooks are super convenient for hanging your everyday items by your front door so you can grab them quickly on the go. Another option is to add a wall shelf. This is a great option because it provides storage space and hooks for coats.

6. Bring in a Shoe Mat

Keep shoes out of the way with a designated shoe spot.

A shoe mat helps to designate a spot for where your guests should put their shoes. No one wants to walk into a cluttered entryway or trip over a pair of heels!

7. Choose the Perfect Runner

Area rugs and runners can soften any entryway

Add character to your entryway with a stylish runner. Area rugs and runners help define your space, as well as soften it up. Be sure to pick a rug that can handle some wear and tear since your entryway is a high traffic area.
