5 Small Bedroom Ideas that Maximize Space

Your bedroom is your own getaway space. A place to go and unwind after a long day of work or a tough gym session. Finding design and storage solutions for small bedrooms can be a challenge but don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place!

Don’t let the walls of your small bedroom box in your creativity! Here are five small bedroom ideas to make the most of your space.

1. Maximize Your Storage

The drawers in my Laurel Storage bed save space and keep clutter off the floor.

Storage beds are a great way to make the most out of every inch space in your bedroom especially when you have a small bedroom. These convenient drawers are the perfect place for extra blankets or pillows and tuck neatly underneath the bed. Choose from beds with drawers in the footboard or beds with drawers in the footboard and on the side.

2. On the Move

A vintage-style cream metal rolling cart with three shelves holding books, colored pencils, and a glass pitcher, next to a gold round bedside table with a green plant, a coffee mug with "but first COFFEE" text, and a silver alarm clock, beside a beige upholstered bed with layered bedding.
Use a 3-tier cart for stylish storage solution for a small bedroom.

You can’t move your walls but you can move your furniture – if it has wheels! A cart is a great solution to maximize storage space and have the versatility of movement around your home or apartment. A cart utilizes vertical storage space and is a fun and functional way to organize your home office supplies.

3. Light Up Your Space

My Chad collection of lamps add an industrial flair to your bedroom.

Brighten up a dark room with a floor lamp or table lamp. The extra light opens up the space and can make your living room, dining room or bedroom feel bigger.

4. Dress Up Your Floor

Multicolor abstract patterned area rug with a mix of dark blue, red, yellow, and beige tones, placed on wooden flooring under a beige sofa leg.
Colorful area rugs make a statement in a small bedroom.

Don’t overlook the impact a rug can have on a space – even in a small bedroom! Where you place your rug is key. A rug in the middle of the room makes your furniture feel larger and the room smaller. Try tucking your rug under furniture so it doesn’t overwhelm the room.

5. A Dash of Cozy & Color

White wooden bed with storage drawers, gray bedding, textured throw blanket, decorative pillows including one with a bicycle and "let's ride" text, matching nightstand with lamp and plant, dark green wall with framed art and hardwood floor.
Add a throw blanket to complete the look of your bedroom.

Add the finishing touch to your space with a comfy throw blanket. You’ll have something to snuggle with on cold nights and you’ll add a pop of color to your space!

We’d love to see how you’ve styled your small bedroom. Please share your bedroom design photos and make sure to tag @mybobs for a chance to be featured in my feed.
