5 Smart Solutions for Small Living Rooms

Just because you live in a small space doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style! With a little bit of creativity, you can make your small living room stylish and functional! Here are five simple space-saving seating and storage solutions for small living rooms.

Pick the Right Sofa

Make sure you choose the right sofa for your space. Don’t pick something that is too big because it will overpower the room and won’t leave you much extra space for tables, lamps and other furniture. On the other hand, you don’t want to choose too small of a sofa because you want to have an adequate seating area for your family and friends.

The Chofa is a perfect sofa for small living rooms because the chaise gives you a little extra space and includes a hidden storage compartment.

Select Multifunctional Furniture

Since space is a premium, make sure you maximize every inch of your room by selecting multipurpose furniture. Don’t just shop for a sofa, instead, look for sleeper sofas. Sleeper sofas provide seating during the day and can instantly transform into a bed at night without taking up much extra space. The Chofa is also available as a Bob-O-Pedic Memory Foam Sleeper sofa.

Tables can also serve multiple functions. Look for tables that can serve as a small coffee table and also double as an end table. Want to add a little fun to your space? Try nesting tables.

Utilize Vertical Storage

A small shelf is a great way to add storage without taking up too much room. With multiple shelves, you have plenty of space for books, photos and trinkets.

Choose the Perfect Rug

Don’t underestimate the power that a rug can have on the feel of a room. Choosing a rug that fits under all your pieces can help to define the space, making it feel larger. A rug can also help set the tone for the room. Bright colors speak to a bold space while a soft shag gives off a cozy vibe.

Select the Right Lighting

A dark corner in any room can make the space feel cold and unwelcoming. Make sure you select proper lighting that will illuminate the space while also maintaining a sense of calmness. If you don’t have room for end tables, try tucking a floor lamp in the corner.
