Typically, a kitchen island is a stationary fixture in your kitchen, used for hosting, dining, food prep and additional storage. Some feature drawers and cabinets with room for cutlery and serve ware, while others have an extended countertop to pair with your comfiest bar stools for a cozy breakfast nook!

A kitchen cart, however, is a more flexible piece of kitchen furniture, usually smaller than your average island and has a little less storage. They’re typically on wheels so they can easily move around your kitchen, dining room, or living room.
