Bob's and the Arizona Diamondbacks Help Young Adults Build a Place to Call Home
Bob’s teamed up with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Child Crisis Arizona to fully furnish a three-bedroom home for young adults transitioning out of foster care. A ribbon cutting was celebrated in early August at the home in Mesa, AZ. The home will provide a welcoming environment where residents can take their first steps toward independent living with dignity and confidence.
For many young adults leaving the foster care system, the transition to adulthood comes with tremendous uncertainty. Having a comfortable, fully furnished home gives them more than a roof over their heads—it provides stability, peace of mind, and the opportunity to focus on building their future.
"For a young person aging out of foster care, walking into a home that's warm, welcoming, and truly theirs can be transformative," said Justin Duran, Senior Vice President of Development & Communications at Child Crisis Arizona. "So many of these young adults are learning to manage a household, a budget, and their independence for the very first time, and having a fully furnished, comfortable place to call home gives them one less thing to worry about and one more reason to believe in their own future. We're deeply grateful to Bob's Discount Furniture, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Paul and Molly Sewald for their generosity and for standing beside these young adults as they take their first steps into independence."

Our Divisional Vice President, Kevin Parker, was proud to represent Bob's during the celebration alongside Debbie Castaldo, Senior Vice President of Corporate & Community Impact and President of the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Paul Sewald, and Justin Duran, Sr. Vice President of Development & Communications of Child Crisis Arizona.
"This home represents much more than furniture," Kevin shared. "It's about creating a space where young adults can begin their next chapter with dignity, confidence, and the knowledge that their community believes in them. We're incredibly proud to partner with organizations that are making such a lasting impact."
This meaningful project was also made possible through the continued generosity of Paul and Molly Sewald and their Sewalds Strikeouts 4 Kids initiative, which provides critical funding to Child Crisis Arizona to support children, youth, and families throughout the community. Their commitment, combined with the leadership of the Diamondbacks Foundation, demonstrates what's possible when organizations unite around a shared purpose.
"Having a safe, welcoming place to call home can make all the difference for a young adult starting the next chapter of their life. We're proud to partner with Bob's Discount Furniture and Child Crisis Arizona on a project that will provide not just a furnished home, but a sense of stability and opportunity," said Debbie Castaldo, Diamondbacks SVP of Corporate & Community Impact & President of the Diamondbacks Foundation. "Paul and Molly Sewald have been incredible champions for our community, and their passion for supporting children and families continues to create lasting impact. This home is a reflection of what can be accomplished when partners come together to invest in the future of our community."
Furnishing this home marks another milestone in our partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Over the past several years, we've had the privilege of working together to furnish transitional apartments for families experiencing housing insecurity through Open Hearts Family Wellness and to create a welcoming community space for veterans at MANA House. Each project has reinforced our shared belief that comfortable spaces can make a meaningful difference during life's most important transitions.
