Supporting Those Who Serve: How Bob’s Discount Furniture Honors First Responders

At Bob’s Discount Furniture, we believe in giving back to the heroes who keep our communities safe. Through donations, sponsorships, and hands-on community support, Bob’s is proud to recognize the extraordinary service and sacrifice of firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and other frontline personnel across the country.

This year, our commitment to first responders has taken many forms. We’ve made several furniture donations to first responder organizations and presented check donations at recent Bob’s events, each one a small gesture of appreciation for those who give so much.

Celebrating by giving back

When we celebrate internal milestones, we make it a priority to give back locally. For example, during the 15th anniversary of our Aberdeen Distribution Center, Bob’s donated to the Aberdeen Fire Department in recognition of their continued service to the community.

We’ve also proudly sponsored programs that bring joy and connection to families, like the Norwich Police Department’s Ice Cream Truck, which helps officers build positive relationships with residents.

We sponsored events that honor and support first responders such as Rowayton Fire Department’s Smoke Out Fundraiser, which brings neighbors together in support of department’s operations. Store Manager, Marc Johnson was on-hand to represent Bob’s as we presented our donation and shared, “One of the most rewarding parts of being with Bob’s Discount Furniture is having the opportunity to give back to the communities we’re part of.”

When disaster strikes

When disaster strikes, we step up to help those on the front lines. Following the devastating January 2025 wildfires in California, Bob’s contributed to the California Fire Foundation, helping impacted first responders and their families rebuild and recover.

As part of the same response effort, Bob’s partnered with the Los Angeles Rams to furnish the recreation room at the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Air Operations, who were instrumental in battling LA Wildfires, with 12 new recliners just in time for this year’s NFL draft, which was held at the fire department.

Furnished with Love

Bob’s Discounts Furniture’s Charitable Foundation donated over $30,000 in gift cards to first responder organizations so far this year. The City of Chester Bureau of Fire in Pennsylvania, recently used their Bob’s gift card donation to purchase new office chairs for their meeting room.

At Bob’s, we’re proud to stand behind the first responders who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe and strong. Supporting them is more than a charitable effort—it’s our way of expressing gratitude for their dedication, compassion, and everyday acts of service.
