A Fresh Start: Bob’s Discount Furniture and the Patriots Foundation Welcome a Military Family Home

April marks the Month of the Military Child — a time to recognize the resilience and sacrifices made by military families.

Bob’s Discount Furniture, the New England Patriots Foundation, and Father Bill’s & MainSpring have come together to support the Jacobs, a deserving military family transitioning into a new chapter of stability and hope.

Honoring Service with Action

Keston Jacob, a U.S. Army veteran, served his country for 22 years. Like many veterans, his journey home has not been without challenges. Living with PTSD and navigating difficult circumstances, the Jacob family — comprised of six children, including three young ones aged 13, 4, and 2 — recently faced homelessness after relocating from Florida to Massachusetts in search of stronger family support.

Their story is one of resilience, but also a reminder of the real struggles many veteran families endure after service.

A Community of Support

Father Bill’s & MainSpring stepped in to provide not just housing, but long-term support services to help the Jacob family regain stability.

Ready to embark on a new chapter by moving into their own apartment, the Jacob family was surprised by Hunter Henry, a New England Patriots’ Tight End, to learn their home would be fully furnished by Bob’s and the Patriots. The family shopped at Bob’s in Stoughton, selecting new furniture for every room in their home.

“We are deeply grateful to Bob’s Discount Furniture and Father Bill’s & MainSpring for their unwavering commitment to supporting families in our community,” said Patriots Foundation Executive Director Andre Tippett.

“Welcoming the Jacob family into a fully furnished home is a powerful reminder of what can happen when organizations come together with purpose. As a veteran family rebuilding their lives, the Jacob family embodies resilience, and we are honored to stand alongside them as they begin this new chapter.”

“At Bob’s, we believe everyone deserves a home they love,” said Ryan Schaffer, Chief Legal and Development Officer at Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We are honored to partner with the Patriots and Father Bill’s & MainSpring to give back to a family who has given so much for our country.”

Patriots players including Hunter Henry and Lorenz Metz, Offensive Tackle, and community leaders joined the effort, helping with the final touches and welcoming the family home during a special move-in event that included a ribbon cutting and remarks from key partners.

More Than Furniture—A Foundation for the Future

For Keona Jacob, this moment represents more than a move—it’s a turning point:

“We are proud of how far we’ve come and remain hopeful for what lies ahead. With stability and continued support we are focused on building a future where each of our children feel safe, supported and able to thrive.”

This initiative is part of the broader “Community Captains” program, led by the Kraft family and the New England Patriots Foundation in partnership with Bank of America. The program supports local nonprofits working to strengthen communities and provide meaningful, lasting impact.
