Bob’s Community Crew Honors 9/11 Through Service and Remembrance in Hartford

Bob’s Community Crew joined hundreds of volunteers in Hartford, Connecticut, to honor the 25th anniversary of September 11 through service and remembrance at the 9/11 Day Meal Pack event at PeoplesBank Arena.

The Hartford event was part of a nationwide 9/11 Day initiative bringing together more than 50,000 volunteers in 50 cities with the goal of packing 20 million meals for local neighbors facing hunger. Volunteers at the Hartford event packed 185,000 meals which were contributed to Connecticut Foodshare based in Wallingford, Conn.

Founded by 9/11 family members, 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance was created as a way to honor those lost and injured on September 11, 2001, along with the many who rose in service in response, by encouraging Americans to do good in their communities.

For Bob’s Community Crew, it was a meaningful opportunity to put that mission into action right here in the home state of Bob’s headquarters.

“We’re so proud of our volunteers who worked side-by-side with members of the Greater Hartford community to help address hunger while honoring the spirit of unity, compassion, and service that emerged in the days following September 11,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Director of Communications, Public Relations and Community Outreach.
