Thank You Guests for Helping Bob’s Donate $47.5K to Special Olympics

Thanks to our guests for their contributions to Special Olympics! Through donations made in our on-the-house cafes from January through March, and a dollar-for-dollar match, Bob’s presented $47,500 to the Special Olympics.

Athletes from Special Olympics Minnesota visited Bob’s new Burnsville store to accept the donation.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Bob’s Discount Furniture for their continued commitment to inclusion and support of our athletes,” said Kaitlyn Mack, Corporate Relations Manager, Special Olympics Minnesota. “Through their Café Collection campaign, Bob’s is helping create more opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities in our community and beyond.”

Since partnering in 2014, Bob’s has contributed over $600,000 to the Special Olympics.

“We’re so grateful to our guests for helping us to make this donation to Special Olympics,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Communications, Community Outreach and PR Director. “We are also so proud of our employees for volunteering at area events and participating in numerous Polar Plunge events, helping us to contribute is ways that connect us to the communities we serve.”

Special Olympics Minnesota hosted their Summer Games at the University of Minnesota in June and will be home to the USA Games in 2026.

Cool Partners!

In addition to fundraising for the Special Olympics through the Café Collections for a Cause program, Bob’s employees have supported athletes through volunteerism and fundraising.

Bob’s store teams also show support for the Special Olympics by participating in Polar Plunge events throughout the country. This year, employees raised nearly $9,000 to support local teams near Bob’s stores.

The Special Olympics has also made a commitment to Bob’s by visiting local stores with athletes who share about volunteerism and their participation in various sports offered by the Special Olympics.
