Chests & Dressers
Clothing storage has never looked so good
Looking for space to stash your latest shopping spree splurge? Boy, do I have the solutions for you! I’ve got the biggest selection of dressers, chests, dressers with mirrors, and more to keep your bedroom or dressing room clutter free, (well, aside from that pile of clothes on the floor from when you couldn’t decide what to wear this morning! Psst: just toss them under the bed, no one will notice!).
Great question! While dressers and chests are very similar, there are a few key differences that distinguish the two! Usually, a dresser features two or more columns of drawers, while a chest of drawers features just one single column stacked vertically—AKA, you’ll get a little less storage with just a chest versus a dresser, (or dresser and chest combo—like you can find in my bedroom furniture sets!).
Or opt for the best of both worlds with a chesser—a cross between a chest and a dresser! Chessers are larger pieces of storage furniture that typically feature two columns of drawers, one shorter side with a mirror and a taller stack of drawers on the other.
The most popular location for a dresser or chest is next to your bed, typically on a perpendicular wall—just make sure you have enough room to open up the drawers and won’t bump into your nightstand! If you wanna go all feng shui, place your dresser or chest on the wall directly across from your bed to create balance with the largest pieces of furniture in the room.
Of course, it all depends on the layout of your bedroom, and what other bedroom furniture you have. Check out my 3D room designer to get a virtual layout planned before you make any big purchases—no interior design background necessary!
Once you’ve determined where you want your dresser or chest to go, you can get decorating! I love to place a good piece of wall décor or mirror on the wall above. May I suggest a dresser and mirror combo? A lamp is always a good choice, too, for some cozy mood lighting—depending on your square footage, a floor lamp beside your drawers is a great option! Finally, add some texture with some decorative accents or lean into the minimalist aesthetic with a clean top (just don’t forget to dust!). That’s it!
