Switch up your seating arrangement with a dining bench! Communal seating brings your family and friends closer and looks great with a number of dining tables and decor. Combine it with a selection of dining chairs or go full picnic table with two benches on either side!
More often than not, you’ll want your dining bench to mimic the length of your dining table. You could even get away with a slightly shorter one, but I wouldn’t recommend going longer or you’ll run the risk of some banged shins when trying to move around your space with a tray full of food—ouch!

I always recommend square or rectangle dining tables when shopping for a dining bench. The straight lines compliment one another well and you can easily stow the bench underneath if you have a little more foot traffic.
You can also use a round dining table to create a cozy dining nook! Simply push your bench up against a free wall and grab some dining chairs to frame the table and bam! The perfect cozy space.
