Here at Bob’s we believe pets are part of the family and that’s why we’re celebrating National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day on April 30!

Bob’s is proud to call attention to this special day and the partners we have worked with in the last year who devote countless hours to supporting marginalized animals.

We are grateful for opportunities to give back to organizations that support our four-legged fans!

Shelter Sleep-In for ARLGP

This past summer it was an honor to donate $2,000 from our Café Collection for a Cause to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Maine. We topped the donation with an additional $1,500 sponsorship for the annual Shelter Sleep-In.

For the Sleep-In, eighteen volunteers from the greater Portland area bunked-up with shelter pets for the night raising nearly $108,000 online and through donations like ours!

We were thrilled to help participant Joann Majka decorate one of the shelter’s cat colony rooms that doubled as her bedroom for the Sleep-In.

Majka is the ARLGP’s Business Manager. She transformed the room with the help of some artwork from Bob’s and two of our adorable animal ottomans.

The home décor was later used to brighten up the shelter’s Humane Education Classroom, a dedicated space where Children grades K-8 learn about compassion and kindness toward people and pets. There are two full-time educators and staff who teach camps and workshops and provide in-school activities to help cultivate a humane community of animal ambassadors.

Bob’s also contributed to the Humane Society in Scarborough, Maine through the Café Collection for a Cause.

During our 12 Days of Giving spree this past December, Bob’s donated a $1,000 Random Act of Kindness check to Maryland-based Big Guy Little’s World Sanctuary.

The organization was chosen by employees and guests as one of 12 recipients of the 12 Days of Giving campaign.

At Big Guy Little’s World Sanctuary, Bobby Humphreys and a dedicated team provide support for neglected, abandoned, and abused chihuahuas as well as chihuahuas combating serious health issues such as seizures and auto immune deficiencies. Since its inception, the sanctuary has since grown provide temporary, and at times indefinite refuge to chihuahuas in need. His long-term goals include finding a unique experience for chihuahuas in need across the country where they can live out their days without fear of being euthanized, kenneled, or rehomed. Bobby and team are also developing a line of dog food related health products to combat such issues as parasites, anxiety, and immune strengthening through a better diet.

Hearts Alive Village

Bob’s employees and guests really do love pets so it’s no surprise that another nonprofit supporting animals received overwhelming nominations during our 12 Days of Giving campaign.

Based out of Nevada, Hearts Alive Village is the only all-in-one animal rescue in Las Vegas with a vet clinic, adoption center, fostering service, rehoming service, rehabilitation program and more. It all started with the vision of one woman and her daughter. After they rescued two dogs in need there was no holding back. Now the pair helps Las Vegans while supporting their mission: to nurture a compassionate society where pets are supported in their homes and on their journey to find a new home.

Bob’s is grateful to support Hearts Alive Village.
