Random Acts of Kindness Day, The Bob’s Way!

At Bob’s Discount Furniture, Random Acts of Kindness Day isn’t just a feel-good moment or a one-day celebration — kindness is our culture! From presenting Random Acts of Kindness donations at every store grand opening, to celebrating the holidays with donations to charitable organizations nominated by guests and employees, to special campaigns supporting our partners, Bob’s small acts of kindness have a big impact on the communities we serve.

When Bob’s opens a new store, the celebration goes beyond ribbon cuttings — in fact the core of every store opening is about supporting organizations that serve the local communities where we do business.

At every grand opening, Bob’s awards two $2,500 Random Acts of Kindness donations: one to a nonprofit and one to a local school. These contributions support organizations that strengthen the community and help ensure students and neighbors have the resources they need to thrive.

This year alone, Bob’s will give more than $100,000 in RAK donations tied to new store openings, reinforcing that community support is just as important to helping guests turn the places they live into home that they love.

Whether it’s helping educational initiatives, or nonprofit organizations, Bob’s knows every new store we open is an opportunity to leave a positive footprint.

Holiday Giving: Warm Hearts All Season Long

Scary Christmas House in Phoenix, AZ was a 2025 recipient of Bob’s 12 Days of Giving RAK donation.

Each holiday season, Bob’s has a tradition of generosity with the 12 Days of Giving program, where customers and guests nominate nonprofits to receive support. For several years, Bob’s has awarded twelve $1,000 donations to local nonprofits nominated by their guests and employees.

Since the program began, Bob’s has awarded over $100,000 to nonprofits that matter most to employees and guests!

Partner Support: Standing With Community Heroes

Jonathan Tilley was recognized as a Hometown hero.

Bob’s Random Acts of Kindness has also extended to support charitable and sports partners. Last year, Bob’s was thrilled to give $11,000 in Random Acts of Kindness donations to the United Services Organization (USO), as part of its Heroes at Home campaign in collaboration with Joe Gibbs Racing. The campaign recognized Hometown Heroes and underscores Bob’s commitment to honoring and supporting those who serve with generosity and gratitude.

World Kindness Day: Amplifying Kindness

Bob’s loves to amplify kindness any chance we can, and World Kindness Day has been the perfect occasion to showcase the many ways Bob’s employees care about each other and our guests! This past year On World Kindness Day (November 13), Bob’s teams across the country built on their culture of generosity with joyful surprises and gratitude-filled interactions.

Here’s how Bob’s made the day extra special:

Spreading Joy in Stores

Customers in select locations were greeted with surprise Little Bob plushies, sparking smiles and uplifting the shopping experience. Bonus – $5 from each Little Bob plushies supports our participating nonprofit partner!

Surprise Gifts at Distribution Centers

Bob’s associates selected customers picking up orders at several of our distribution centers, to receive Bob’s gift cards and unexpected recognition.

Kindness Delivered

Delivery teams and regional leaders surprised selected customers with refunds of their delivery fees, plush gifts, and commemorative challenge coins. These moments created heartfelt connections and genuine delight.

A Note of Kindness

These acts show that kindness isn’t just an annual event for Bob’s — it’s a lived value, shared with customers, employees, and communities alike.

A Culture That Keeps Giving

From grand openings to holiday traditions, community partnerships, and global celebration days like World Kindness Day, Bob’s Discount Furniture exemplifies what it means to build kindness into the fabric of an organization. Our philanthropic programs — including ongoing Random Acts of Kindness donations — reflect a commitment to community!
