Heart of Bob’s Mission Statement
To recognize and share the human stories of unselfish acts which exemplify The Bob’s Way and stand as a model of behavior to be admired and appreciated.
Amy Franz is my Information Technology Technician in Chicago, Illinois. As part of a motorcycle club that focuses on supporting the local military community, Amy opened her home on Thanksgiving to 100 veterans. Working with friends and family Amy provided a hot meal and a warm place to enjoy a special day to many in need. For her generosity and community giving, Amy is awarded This Heart of Bob’s.
Jeff Popovich is my Senior Loss Prevention Manager in Shorewood, Illinois. While many think of the world of loss prevention as keeping the property from being stolen, Jeff knows the most valuable asset at Bob’s are our people. When an associate was choking, Jeff performed the Heimlich maneuver to clear the airway. For his unwavering focus on the safety of our associates and his courage to take swift action, Jeff is awarded This Heart of Bob’s.
Osvaldo Ruiz is a Human Resources Generalist in my Shorewood Distribution Center. Watching how Osvaldo spends caring time with associates, it is quite evident that he puts his heart into his work. Whether it’s helping friends & families or building partnerships with organizations like Cornerstone Services that aids with job placement for those with special needs, Osvaldo is always there to listen with an empathizing ear. For his generosity of time and spirit, Osvaldo is awarded This Heart of Bob’s.
Melissa Ortins is my Store Manager in Manchester, New Hampshire. When Melissa decided to organize a fundraiser she not only rallied a group of her team members to participate in the Penguin Plunge she costumed them all and fully-engaged social media to advertise the event. TEAM LATHAM, NY
The Heart of Bob’s was sighted in Latham, NY. Laurie DeWolf, Roger Livingston, and the entire store staff created a special holiday season for a Bob’s customer and their family. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Laurie read the card from a grateful family whose life was made a little easier by a group of caring people. For their unselfish acts of kindness and generosity, Team Latham is awarded this Heart of Bob’s.
TEAM WILMINGTON, DE
The Heart of Bob’s is alive and well in Wilmington, Delaware. When this team learned about a former associate, who had left for serious medical reasons, was in need of a new bed that they couldn’t afford, the team went into action. With a spirit of giving from associates, managers, and even a customer they delivered what was needed. For their generosity and commitment to their community, Team Wilmington is awarded This Heart of Bob’s.
