Of all colors, shapes, and sizes.<\/li><li><strong>Novelty <\/strong>– That leg lamp your co-worker got you for last year\u2019s secret Santa.<\/li><li><strong>Sentimental <\/strong>– \u201dBaby\u2019s First Christmas,\u201d enough said.<\/li><li><strong>DIY <\/strong>– The paper snowflake you made in your 3rd grade art class.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As much as that snowflake means to you, every year you question whether or not it\u2019s time to retire it from the tree. Fortunately for you, I found an alternative solution…upgrade! The first part of the snowflake you\u2019ll need to thread is the middle circle, made up of six beads (the total project should use about 48). Leaving a couple inches at the end, thread on six beads. Pull into a circle and pull the wire through the first bead a second time, enclosing the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mybobs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Artboard-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4681\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mybobs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Artboard-2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.mybobs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Artboard-2-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mybobs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Artboard-2-768x538.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption><em>Tip–you\u2019re not limited to this design. Each snowflake is unique, so once you master this one, experiment with alternate patterns. Sketch your beads and wire path out on paper first to determine length, number of beads needed, and if it will work!<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Icy what you did there…<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now here\u2019s where it gets tricky. Thread five beads on to the wire. The fifth bead will be the tip of your snowflake, so now we have to work our way back to the center. Loop the wire back through the previous, but only one. Next, add two additional beads and thread your wire back through the one closest to the center and the nearest right bead in the circle, also only one. Repeat this step five times to form six total arms around the perimeter of the snowflake.
