<p><span style="text-align: var(--text-align);">Covenant House Illinois, a shelter and service provider for youth experiencing homelessness, opened a new Transitional Living Program: Rights of Passage (ROP), in June.</span></p><p>This milestone marks the completion of the Campaign for Youth Potential, a $12 million fundraising initiative that enabled the organization to purchase and renovate a three-story building in East Garfield Park.</p><p>Bob’s was honored to support the new facility by donating 19 new mattresses. Bob’s store team from the South Loop, Chicago, location attended the grand opening of the new housing facility. Bob’s also <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/thanks-for-supporting-the-youth-at-covenant-house/">donated $60,000</a> to Covenant House International last year during the quarterly Café Collections for a Cause program.</p> </div>

<p>With the addition of ROP, Covenant House Illinois has the capacity to provide shelter and wrapround support to 56 young people. Covenant House offers comprehensive, trauma-informed services to help young people achieve their goals and permanently overcome homelessness. Since moving into this building in 2021, Covenant House Illinois has created safe spaces for youth to grow and learn while working toward independence. Covenant House has 33 locations across North and Central America.</p> </div>

<p>All the money donated from July 1 to September 30 in our 166 Cafés coast to coast and online, will be presented to the Covenant House.</p>

<p>At least 4.2 million young people experience homelessness every year in the U.S. alone. With absolute respect and unconditional love, Covenant House and its champions work tirelessly to achieve a world where every young person and young family can find safe, permanent housing.</p>
<p>“Covenant House is so grateful for this exciting new Cafe for a Cause partnership with Bob’s,” said Covenant House President & CEO Bill Bedrossian.</p>
<p>“The funds raised will be used for nutritious meals, safe beds, medical care, and all the practical, immediate needs of our young people. But what this campaign also provides is an open door to real opportunities for young people experiencing homelessness. It is partnerships like this that lift up our young people as they work so hard pursuing their goals and dreams. We are so grateful to Bob’s for recognizing the great promise of our young people and joining with them on their individual journeys,” Bedrossian added.</p>
<p>Founded in 1972 in New York City, Covenant House now provides services in 34 cities across five countries, offering more than 2,000 young people a place to sleep each night. No one is ever turned away without support of some kind. Services and programs are available at no cost.</p>

<p>The Café Collection for a Cause partnership with Bob’s will raise funds that will impact Covenant House’s programs like temporary housing, physical and mental healthcare, meal service, transitional housing, and long-term support for patrons.</p>
<p>“Partnering with an organization like the Covenant House is a perfect match for Bob’s,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Communications and Community Outreach Director. “We know access to shelter and a goodnight sleep are crucial for child development and successful outcomes for unhoused individuals. Bob’s is honored to launch this fundraising campaign with the Covenant House and offer our guests this giving opportunity.”</p>
