<p>Furniture Today has named Bob’s Discount Furniture Buyer, Christine Santostefano, a <a href="https://www.furnituretoday.com/furniture-people/40-under-40-2025-christine-santostefano-bobs-discount-furniture/">40 Under 40</a> in their recent People Issue.</p><p>At 34, Christine has been on a fast track at Bob’s growing from an entry level position of merchandising operations associate in 2019, to leading one of the most dynamic departments in merchandising as the Home Décor Buyer.</p><p>Most notably, Christine has spearheaded the first Bob’s marketplace, featuring home décor items, which debuted at Bob’s flagship experience location in Somerville, Massachusetts last fall. Bob’s is now testing smaller home décor vignettes in a few other store locations.</p><p>“Christine has more than earned this recognition from Furniture Today,” said Tracy Paccione, Vice President of Merchandising. “In her role at Bob’s, Christine drives success by anticipating market trends and developing forward-thinking strategies for Bob’s that propel the business ahead.”</p><p>As the Home Décor Buyer at Bob’s, Christine manages a wide range of categories including occasional chairs, rugs, lighting, wall décor, tabletop accessories, trees and floral, decorative pillows, top of bed, and small accent furniture.</p><p>“My focus is on continuously introducing fresh styles and trend-forward designs while ensuring great value to our customers,” shared Christine.</p><p>Christine said some of her major achievements since starting with Bob’s have been building Bob’s decorative pillow business and Bob’s top of bed category. </p><p>“Bob’s already offers an amazing assortment of pillows with our sofas, so I had to be creative in choosing decorative pillows in unique colors, shapes, and sizes to entice guests,” she said. “Last season I brought in novelty holiday decorative pillows in a candy-cane shape and a gingerbread cookie shape; they which were both fun and popular!”</p><p>In recent years, Bob’s experienced success with its Sofia living room collections and Christine shared that she brought that trend to home décor by introducing Sofia top of bed as a cash and carry stocked program – something Bob’s previously did not carry outside of the DTC program. The program quickly became a best-seller and exceeded expectations.</p><p>“I’ve always had a passion for product development, which has been a key driver in my career progression. I take pride in creating high-performance products that deliver exceptional value to our customers,” she shared. “Staying on top of the latest styles, color trends, and consumer preferences has been essential, along with building and maintaining strong partnerships with vendors. These experiences have all played a significant role in helping me grow into my current position.”</p><p>Additionally, Christine notes her eye for design and spotting trends have contributed to her expansion of Bob’s home décor offerings. She credits her mentors Carol Glaser, Bob’s Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer, and Tracy Paccione, for giving her runway and trust in bringing her visions for new products to life.</p><p>“Carol and Tracy are always super supportive and love to see what I’m coming up with,” said Christine. “Color is one area that I can try new things and when it works, the trend can be brought into larger categories, which they welcome and encourage.”</p><p>“Christine is an incredibly talented merchant with an eye for trend-right products and the skill to negotiate them at a value for our customers,” said Carol. “She excels at introducing fun and unique items and pulling them together in a way that our customers just love. Her keen sense of style, dedication to excellence, and strong vendor relationships make her an invaluable asset to our team.”</p> </div>

<p>Before coming to Bob’s, Christine held the position of account manager for apparel and skincare manufacturers. Switching from sales to buying was a significant career change, shared Christine.</p><p>“Finding the position at Bob’s that offered me the opportunity to explore and grow in product development is really what drove my decision to make a career shift,” she shared.</p><p>With this 40 Under 40 recognition, Christine has proven she is flourishing on this side of the business and growing alongside Bob’s, which is now the nation’s seventh largest furniture company.</p><p>Christine said with all the creativity she brings to her position and new items she tries, one of the most important factors is to remain true to Bob’s commitment to offer value without compromise in every category.</p><p>“One of my proudest accomplishments is making sure Bob’s value statement goes across all categories, especially home décor,” said Christine.</p><p>With more to accomplish in smaller home décor categories, Christine said, “I am grateful for this recognition, happy in my current role, and looking forward to continuing to grow and develop with Bob’s.”</p> </div>

<p>Bob’s Discount Furniture is pleased to share that Dennis LeClair has been named a 2024 “<a href="https://www.furnituretoday.com/furniture-people/dennis-leclair-bobs-discount-fts-40-under-40/">40 Under 40</a>” by Furniture Today. Dennis is the buyer for dining room furniture, accent furniture and outdoor furniture at Bob’s.</p>
<p>This recognition by Furniture Today highlights the next generation of industry leaders who are trailblazers and whose actions will carry the industry forward for decades to come.</p>
<p>“Dennis is a great merchant and constantly engaged about product and driving the business,” said Carol Glaser, Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer. “He is collaborative and enjoys mentoring our young talent.”</p>
<p>Dennis started with Bob’s in 2019 and brought a depth of experience and knowledge from his tenure as a buyer with Bed Bath & Beyond. Dennis joined Bed Bath & Beyond after graduating from the Gabelli School of Business at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.</p>
<p>A native of New England, Dennis was familiar with the Bob’s brand and shares that he was star-struck when he first met the company’s founder Bob Kaufman. He said the entrepreneurial attitude of the business drew him to the company and the growth trajectory has kept him engaged and passionate about Bob’s.</p>
<p>“Bob’s is an incredibly unique company in that it has a deep and storied legacy in the industry, but it also has a young and hungry spirit… it has start-up type of energy right now,” shared Dennis. “I am with Bob’s for the long haul. I see the vision; I see the pathway and I am looking to continue to grow.”</p>
<p>Dennis credits his success in part to his mentors, Carol Glaser, Tracy Paccione, Vice President of Merchandising and Lynn Glick, Vice President of Merchandising, who have given him guidance. “They are titans in the furniture industry and are great influences. When I first joined Bob’s they each spent time with me teaching me the ropes not only technically on the furniture, but also on the way we do business here at Bob’s.”</p>
<p>Creating strong mentor relationships is the best advice he has for those just starting in their careers. “I think there’s real value with attaching yourself to someone in the organization who’s already successful and being a sponge to observe and absorb those key traits,” he said.</p>
<p>Now with 12-plus years’ experience in the furniture industry, Dennis has successfully navigated wavering changes in the business landscape. As a young professional, he leverages fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to help Bob’s maintain its position as an industry leader. To meet customers where they are engaging, Dennis adapts product assortments and even looks to non-furniture industry shifts in consumer preference and design aesthetics to translate those key learnings into Bob’s buying process.</p>
<p>Alongside Dennis’ outstanding problem-solving skills, he excels at driving value for Bob’s amongst their competitors. Optimizing and expediting new item development, working with vendors to intelligently engineer product and packaging, and driving meaningful product differentiation from Bob’s competitors, are all levers Dennis pulls that drive value and give customers yet another reason to choose Bob’s.</p>
<p>Within his role with Bob’s, Dennis is seen as a strong, solutions-oriented team player, utilizing a holistic approach to problem solving. With a strong ‘team mentality’, Dennis takes into consideration the thoughts and opinions of his peers when reaching a decision.</p>
<p>“There’s very much a team energy here and nothing gets done in a silo in this company,” said Dennis. “We have really strong team partnerships from top to bottom.”</p>
<p>For inspiration, Dennis looks to leaders like former New England Patriots Quarterback, Tom Brady. “You know, I think his mentality about making it not about yourself and more about the team and the culture, speaks perfectly to what we do at Bob’s.”</p>

<p>Bob’s Discount Furniture Senior Buyer, Kaily Hanna has just earned a spot as one of <a href="https://www.furnituretoday.com/furniture-people/40-under-40-2023-kaily-connor-hanna-bobs-discount-furniture/">Furniture Today’s 40 Under 40</a>. At 30 years old, it may come as a surprise that she has been in the furniture industry for almost 20 years.</p>
<p>“I am picturing the orange velour sofas,” said Kaily of her family’s coastal Maine furniture business,<a href="https://phfd.co/"> Perry’s Home Furnishings & Design</a>. “It’s almost like I really started when I was 13.”</p>
<p>Hailing from a multi-generational family business, which opened in the 70s, Kaily joined Bob’s Discount Furniture as a college graduate with a degree in Management Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.</p>
<p>Kaily started in Bob’s merchandising department job shadowing then-Senior Vice President / GMM, Carol Glaser, who is now Bob’s Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer.</p>
<p>“I remember, vividly, this purple sofa they were working on,” Kaily recalls of her first days at Bob’s. She said she knew the original manufacturer and details of the piece, which immediately impressed the merchandising team. “I kind of talked the talk coming in so I feel like that helped propel me,” she laughed. </p>
<p>“Kaily is incredibly deserving of the recognition of 40 Under 40 from Furniture Today,” said Glaser. “She has been a vital asset to Bob’s merchandising team over the past decade. We are fortunate to have her on the team as the company continues to grow in footprint and product offering.”</p>

<p>Kaily became an assistant buyer for upholstery and mattresses, and she has never looked back finding her home in Bob’s. In addition to her role as Senior Buyer, Kaily has been integral to the development of Bob’s direct-to-consumer merchandise category.</p>
<p>Since starting in 2014, Kaily has worked with Bob’s mattresses and shares that she loves the challenge of this product. “Essentially I am just buying white rectangles, but it’s much more technical, making sure the layers are right.” Mattresses are a blank canvas where Bob’s can be an industry leader, said Kaily.</p>
<p>Kaily has brought new life to Bob’s sleep offerings by combining her engineering background and her furniture roots. “Coming from a small business, you have to think of the whole business,” said Kaily.</p>
<p>Kaily has enhanced Bob’s mattresses with modern technology like cooling covers and voice activated motion bed bases. She championed bed-in-a-box when the fad became popular, noting Bob’s had been offering the product long before competitors. The results of her ingenuity have had immediate impact on business growth.</p>
<p>As Kaily has progressed in her career at Bob’s, she has explored buying other products to gain knowledge. “You have to be open to any experience or exposure you can get,” she commented. “If you are curious and you want to learn more, I feel you tend to get more opportunities.”</p>
<p>Mentorship has been a big part of her growth story at Bob’s, said Kaily. She credits the openness of Glaser and mentor Michael Hoffman, former Bob’s Marketing and Merchandising Advisor, with her continued success.</p>
<p>First to join committees outside her area of expertise, Kaily said, “It allows me to get a more holistic picture of the business. I still have that curiosity. I am always asking questions and I want to get involved in as many outside projects as possible.”</p>
<p>Kaily is also so dedicated to her work, she’s even debuted in a few Bob’s commercials as on-screen talent and voice acting. She is also always willing to volunteer for Bob’s community events like meal packing and the annual signature partnership with the New England Patriots, the Bed-Zone Bash.</p>

<p>Kaily has grown right alongside Bob’s joining when there were only 65 stores. Bob’s will close 2023 with 171 stores. “We’re growing in store count and we’re growing in people count but culturally we’ve stayed the same,” said Kaily. It is the family-feel of Bob’s that Kaily said she likes most about her career. Bob’s is different from her roots, she said, but in many ways, it is the same.</p>
