<p>Over the 2025 Holiday Season, Bob’s was privileged to partner once again with the <strong>Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF)</strong>—an organization that brings help, hope, and a reason to smile to New England cancer patients and their families—to deliver something simple and profound: <em>comfort at home</em>. </p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>A Giving Tuesday That Went Even Further</strong> </h3>
<p>In 2025, JAF’s Giving Tuesday campaign introduced a meaningful new twist: patient shopping sprees at local Bob’s stores—two in each New England state—while Bob’s tripled donations resulted in over $60,000 raised, with an additional $30,000 going directly to patients via the shopping sprees. </p>
<p>That spirit of generosity set the tone for the season that followed. Building on the success of the campaign, Bob’s welcomed 12 amazing individuals who are in treatment or remission for $2,500 shopping sprees, inviting each recipient to select furniture and home accents that could make everyday life a little easier and a lot more comforting during treatment. </p>

<p>“Bob’s Discount Furniture provided new furniture to 12 families, allowing them to experience the comfort of a well-furnished home at a time when any extra expense is challenging, as all their finances are directed towards cancer treatment and daily living costs. The families expressed their gratitude through heartfelt words and joyful smiles that they wore proudly.” said Jen Andruzzi, Joe Andruzzi Foundations President and CEO. </p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Why Home Matters</strong> </h3>
<p>For patients navigating treatment, home is where rest and recovery happen. Over the years, our partnership with JAF has focused on very tangible ways to improve that environment, from donating mattresses and bedding to spotlighting patient stories that drive home the impact of the JAF and Bob’s partnership. </p>
<p>“Watching patients choose pieces that will support their comfort and recovery is incredibly powerful. We’re honored to work alongside the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to help create spaces that feel safe, calm, and truly like home during such a challenging time.” added Lindsay Ruszczyk, Bob’s Director of Community Outreach. </p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>The Day Of Experience</strong> </h3>
<p>During each shopping spree, Bob’s teammates welcomed patients and their families with warmth and low pressure guidance helping them choose items that matched their needs, treatment schedules, and living spaces. From supportive mattresses to cozy sectionals, durable recliners, and lighting that make a room feel calm, every selection was made with one goal: to give comfort and spark joy at home. </p>

<p>Through this effort, the <a href="https://www.therams.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rams</a> Foundation will cover one year of rent for two Los Angeles families who lost their homes in the wildfires. Additionally, the Foundation will provide rental assistance to five LAUSD families who were also displaced, helping them secure stable housing as they rebuild their lives.</p>

<p>The Rams Foundation has spent the past few months working with the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena, The Change Reaction, Los Angeles Unified School District and the LAUSD Education Foundation to identify families most in need of support. The rentals will be sourced through Zillow’s rental platform, which simplifies the property search process and provides comprehensive data on each listing. To help the families furnish their new homes, Bob’s Discount Furniture is contributing $15,000 in furnishings.</p>

<p>This housing relief initiative is part of the Rams Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting Los Angeles communities in times of need and reflects the organization’s belief that every Angeleno deserves a safe place to call home. Since January, the Rams have worked to bring “LA Together” following the fires in a variety of ways, including hosting multiple distribution events and supporting local schools and non-profits serving the fire-impacted communities. Beyond financial donations to the Red Cross, LAFD Foundation and World Central Kitchen, in July the Rams partnered with United Way of Greater Los Angeles to host WalkUnitedLA at the Rose Bowl, raising $500,000 to support community-driven wildfire recovery efforts. The Rams also previously partnered with Zillow for their 2025 Draft House at <a href="https://www.mybobs.com/blog/bobs-supports-la-rams-zillow-draft-headquarters-at-lafd-air-operations-with-recliner-contribution/">LAFD Air Operations,</a> showcasing their commitment to community resilience and honoring the first responders who protect the city they call home.</p>

<p>Emilia was born premature and spent 143 days in the neonatal intensive care unit battling breathing difficulties, weight gain challenges, and a diagnosis of Craniosynostosis. Even after leaving the NICU, her fight continued with oxygen support and surgeries. A diagnosis of Juvenile Arthritis added another hurdle. But through it all, Emilia’s resilience shone. The Angel Eye cameras, funded by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, allowed her family to stay connected, providing comfort and strength during long hospital stays. Today, Emilia continues to defy expectations, proving that even the smallest fighters can overcome immense challenges. <p>Thanks to the generous donations of our guests in Somerville, Mass., Bob’s is excited to contribute $4,000 to Somerville Homeless Coalition.</p>
<p>Bob’s recently debuted our flagship experience location in Somerville, Mass., and all of the charitable giving through Dec. 31 has been contributed to <a href="https://somervillehomelesscoalition.org/">Somerville Homeless Coalition</a>.</p>
<p>Little Bob Plushies for Charity were offered for the first-time in the Somerville location and Bob’s contributed $5 of the sale of each Little Bob plushie to Somerville Homeless Coalition.</p>

<p>Additionally, Bob’s contributed $2,500 through a Random Act of Kindness donation at the store’s grand opening in November. Bob’s also raised funds through its Café Collections for a Cause program, October thru December, and matched every contribution dollar-for-dollar to benefit Somerville Homeless Coalition. In total Bob’s was able to contribute $4,000 to the organization.</p>
<p>“We’re thrilled to welcome Bob’s to the Somerville community,” said Felicity Beal, Director of Development, Somerville Homeless Coalition. “It’s clear they are deeply rooted in supporting their local community and we’re honored to be chosen as their first charity partner here in Somerville. Their support will be impactful for our low-income, food-insecure, and homeless clients.”</p>

<p>Founded in 1985, Somerville Homeless Coalition (SHC) began as the city’s first emergency shelter. Today SHC transforms lives by providing services, support, resources, and housing to over7,400 individuals and households.</p>
<p>“We want to thank our guests for helping Bob’s make this meaningful contribution to Somerville Homeless Coalition,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Bob’s Communications and Community Outreach Director. “Bob’s is committed to giving back to the communities where we do business, and we are grateful to our guests for supporting such a worthy organization in their community.”</p>
<p>Bob’s will begin selling Little Bob Plushies for Charity at stores chainwide in February with processed benefiting member hospitals of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.</p>

<p>It was hard to contain the excitement of first-time homeowner Haneefah Warren when she ascended the escalator of Bob’s Discount Furniture in Union, New Jersey and found out her new home would be fully furnished by Bob’s with the help of the <a href="http://www.giants.com">New York Giants</a> and former linebacker, Jonathan Casillas.</p><p>Embraced in the arms of Jersey City native, Jonathan, Haneefah exclaimed “Oh My Bobs!” before embarking on a shopping spree with her children, Zi’Nayiah Warren, 19, and Charles Haddock, 14.</p><p>“You pick out what you want,” Jonathan told Haneefah. “Bob’s is going to hook you up. You don’t have to worry about anything.”</p> </div>

<p>Haneefah purchased her first home through the support of LISC, <a href="https://investnewark.org/">Invest Newark</a> and the <a href="https://landbank.investnewark.org/">Newark Land Bank</a>. Members of those organizations along with representatives from Bob’s and the New York Giants helped welcome Haneefah and her family home just in time for the holidays with a house warming party where her new furniture was unveiled.</p>
<p>This milestone was significant for Haneefah as she has faced many challenges since losing her mother to domestic violence in 1998.</p>
<p>“When I lost her – I am the oldest of four siblings- our trials and tribulations were challenging,” Haneefah shared to the crowd gathered in the living room of her new home. “But we rise to the occasion, and they were counting me out when they should have been counting me in,” she declared!</p>
<p>Haneefah shared that her road to homeownership included accomplishments like graduating from high school, college, and obtaining her master’s degree in criminal justice. “I did it,” she exclaimed to cheers. “My journey! With out those tests, I would not have a testament!”</p>
<p>In a moving moment, Hannefah shared that she started her mortgage journey with NACA on the anniversary of the date of her mother’s death and closed on her new home on the date of her mother’s birthday. She described those coincidences as a divine connection to her family.</p>

<p>In recognition of Women’s History Month, Bob’s Discount Furniture donated 34 mattresses to Deborah’s Place in Chicago. For nearly 40 years, Deborah’s Place has offered supportive housing and services for single women.</p><p>A group of Bob’s employees from the South Loop store location, volunteered at the newly opened <a href="https://www.deborahsplace.org/2022/12/28/the-conservatory-apartments/">Conservatory Apartments</a> to help prepare rooms for their first residents.</p><p>“We’re incredibly grateful to<a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/"> Bob’s Discount Furniture</a>, who donated thirty-four mattresses to Deborah’s Place, ensuring that each woman who ends her homelessness with us has a comfortable place to rest and heal,” said Erin Ellis, Communications Coordinator.</p> </div>

<p>The Bob’s teamed joined Deborah’s Place staff, their <a href="https://www.deborahsplace.org/board-of-directors/">Board of Directors</a> and other volunteers from <a href="https://reffchicago.com/">Real Estate Finance Forum</a> to set up the new beds, and prepare the apartments to welcome residents.</p><p> </p><p>“At Bob’s, we are committed to supporting organizations like Deborah’s Place, which strive to end homelessness and offer wraparound support for successful outcomes,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Director of Communications and Community Outreach, Bob’s Discount Furniture. “It’s even more meaningful to our organization when our employees have the opportunity to volunteer for the causes we support and learn about the lasting impact a good night’s sleep can have on people who need it most.”</p><p> </p><p>“For many of these women, this new apartment will be their first stable home in years, as they exit a cycle of chronic homelessness,” said Erin. “As they start this new chapter, case managers will help them to pursue their goals and connect them to the resources they need to achieve them.”</p><p> </p> </div>

<p>In honor of National Rescue Dog Day, Bob’s contributed a Random Act of Kindness donation to support the <a href="https://www.valleyshoreanimalwelfareleague.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Valley Shore Animal Welfare League</a> near the brand’s New London, Connecticut store.</p><p>This donation was inspired by a grassroots fundraiser held by the Bob’s New London store team during the 2023 holiday season.</p><p>Store manager, Heather Petrarca, said the store location has been fundraising for various charities every year. “As a team, we voted to determine what type of charitable giving we were going to do in 2023 and the animal shelter won the vote,” she explained. “Everyone gave what they could. We ended up having enough to purchase the most expensive item on the shelter’s wish list, which was an outdoor kennel.”</p><p>“I am always so moved to learn about acts like this,” said Bob’s Discount Furniture Regional Manager, Melissa Ortins. “One of Bob’s core values is giving back to the community so I am not surprised to know the store team did this but I am certainly inspired by their commitment to others, especially animals in need.”</p> </div>

<p>Shelter Director Delilah Lord expressed her gratitude for the outdoor kennel and additional donation. “We were surprised last year when we got the call, and we really needed it and I was just over the moon,” she said.</p><p>Delilah noted that the Valley Shore Animal Welfare League has housed as many as 20 dogs at a time, many with medical bills in addition to basic care needs. For example, Charlie, an eight-year-old rescue, has been at the shelter more than a year and has needed more than $3,000 in medical care.</p><p>In addition to the contributions to the Valley Shore Animal Welfare League, Bob’s donated sofas to <a href="https://packleadersrescue.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pack Leaders Rescue of Connecticut</a> as well as contributed <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/holiday-giving-with-bobs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Random Acts of Kindness</a> donations of $2,500 each to Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue in Michigan, PALS Animal Shelter in Missouri, and Fancy Cats & Dogs Rescue Team in Indiana.</p> </div>

<p><em>Bob’s Discount Furniture and the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to donate 10 mattresses from funds raised on Giving Tuesday</em>.</p>
<p><strong>North Attleboro, MA – (December 23, 2023)</strong> – The <a href="http://www.joeandruzzifoundation.org">Joe Andruzzi Foundation</a>, providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for New England cancer patients and their families through financial support when it is needed most, delivered a mattress to cancer patient recipient, Leisa Clarke, 54, of Dorchester, Ma., on Saturday, December 23 with partner, <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/">Bob’s Discount Furniture</a>. </p>
<p>Clarke was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and amyloidosis in December 2020. She currently is undergoing cancer treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Clarke received a heart and kidney transplant in August 2020 and is expected to receive a stem cell transplant within the next six months. The Foundation and Bob’s Discount Furniture delivered Clarke with a brand new mattress and a bed set.</p>

<p>This year, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation raised more than $50,000 on Giving Tuesday. <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/?pds=true&gclid=Cj0KCQiAm5ycBhCXARIsAPldzoXVQy90266iIHlNVFpzZlzfNNSi_phQH1mhaqJqA8K-ARYqKqr57LoaAukoEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bob’s Discount Furniture</a> matched all donations up to $25,000, and for every $2,500 raised, Bob’s donated a mattress that will be delivered to a cancer patient in at least six states. In total, ten mattresses are scheduled to be donated to Joe Andruzzi Foundation cancer patients.</p>
<p>In 2023, nearly $1.3 million was distributed in direct assistance to help patients and their families throughout New England with financial assistance to pay for housing, transportation, utilities, food, insurance, and other household expenses.</p>

<p>Bob’s Café Collection for a Cause to benefit Special Olympics will support more than five million athletes and one million coaches and volunteers in more than 170 countries. Special Olympics provides opportunities for athletes in the 171 communities where Bob’s has stores.</p>

<p>“Bob’s is thrilled to celebrate a decade of support for Special Olympics,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Director of Communications and Community Outreach. “Our Café Collection fundraising enables us to make meaningful contributions to support the programs of Special Olympics in the communities we serve. Additionally, our partnership with Special Olympics has enriched the lives of our employees through volunteerism and beyond.”</p>
<p>Since 2014, Bob’s has supported Special Olympics through financial giving and volunteerism. Recently Bob’s surpassed <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/milestone-moment-for-bobs-and-special-olympics/">$500,000</a> in donations to the organization. </p>
<p>In addition to financial contributions, Bob’s employees have taken part in fundraising through <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/little-bobsters-raise-over-5k-for-special-olympics/">Polar Plunge</a> events across the nation and have volunteered at Special Olympics Winter Games and Summer Games to support athletes.</p>

<p>Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.</p>

<p>Mary Beth McMahon, President & CEO of Special Olympics Massachusetts expressed her sincere appreciation, “A Decade! <p>The Café Collection fundraising helps to support 100,000 competitions and the 32 Olympic-type sports of Special Olympics.</p>
