Supporting our communities is the heart of Bob’s business and that’s why we’re thrilled to partner with Family Promise for a third year for our Café Collections for a Cause program. Family Promise supports families experiencing homelessness by providing services at nearly 175 locations across the country.

From April 1 to June 30 we are inviting guests to stop in any Bob’s store café, have a treat on us and make a donation to Family Promise. Bob’s provides a dollar-for-dollar match up to $75,000, so the more you give, the more we give! Contributions can also be made online here.

Since partnering three years ago, Bob’s has donated over $90,000 to Family Promise.

About Family Promise

Family Promise prevents and ends homelessness for families with children and helps them achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

” We are honored to continue our partnership with Bob’s Discount Furniture as we work together to help families build a path to safe, stable housing,” said Cheryl Schuch, CEO of Family Promise. “Bob’s ongoing commitment reflects a shared belief in the importance of home and the strength of community. We’re deeply grateful for their support and inspired by the meaningful impact we can make together for families across the country. “

Supporting Neighbors in Need

Bob’s partnership with Family Promise extends beyond fundraising through volunteer events hosted by Family Promise sites enabling Bob’s team members to give back to the communities where we do business.

“Working with Family Promise is a perfect match for Bob’s,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Communications and PR/Community Outreach Director. “Together, we share a commitment to helping our neighbors and Bob’s is proud to support Family Promise’s mission to end homelessness for families.”

Little Bob, Lots of Love!

Bob’s Discount Furniture recently presented over $16K to Family Promise through the Plushies for Charity program. Bob’s donated $5 from the sale of every Little Bob plushie sold in participating locations during the second part of 2025. “Every Little Bob plushie sold represents a family supported, a child given stability, and a step closer to ending family homelessness,” said Cheryl Schuch.

“Raising over $16,000 through plushie sales showed how collective generosity — one plushie at a time — could help families move closer to safe, stable housing, said Lindsay Ruszczyk. “We’re eager to invite guests to join us once again in supporting this worthy organization through our Café Collections for a Cause program this spring.”

Bob’s is proud to support USO New England by helping to furnish their newly relocated and renovated center at the Naval Submarine Base in New London, Connecticut.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was recently held for the new center located in the Dealey Center Theater at the Naval Submarine Base and features a welcoming space for military personnel and families to take a break and access many of the programs and services provided by the USO and its volunteers.

Since opening in June 2021, the USO New England Center has played an essential role in supporting Sailors and their families. Working in harmony with the base’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Program, the center provides a welcoming place to relax, recharge, and connect—whether that means grabbing a snack, spending time with loved ones, or simply feeling a little closer to home.

Now triple the size of the previous center, the new center offers features computer workstations and refreshments on one side and a recreation center on the other, which features Bob’s recliners, side chairs, and coffee tables.

“The renovation project in New London has been deeply meaningful for our service members and their families,” said Jennifer Thompson, Executive Director, USO NE & NY. “Creating a refreshed, welcoming space where they can connect, recharge, and feel supported makes a real difference in their day-to-day well-being. This project reflects the care and gratitude our community feels for those who serve.”

Ramesh Murthy, Bob’s Chief Operating Officer, attended the ribbon cutting for the center with Rob Bogan, Bob’s Chief Technology Officer. “The new USO New England Center is a valuable resource for military members and families and Bob’s is honored to help make the space into a home-away-from-home for those who live on base,” said Ramesh.

The ceremony for the new center was attended by many sailors and families on base as well as Navy Capt. Extended separation. Our sailors carry this weight. And if they cannot find a true place of respite here on the home front, how can we truly expect them to maintain peak readiness?”

Bob’s Discount Furniture proudly celebrated a major milestone in its partnership with Family Promise with a $16,645 donation raised through the sale of Little Bob plushies for charity. The donation was presented during the grand opening of Bob’s new store and distribution center in Solon, Ohio, marking a meaningful moment of giving back to the local community.

“Because of partners like Bob’s, more families are able to move from uncertainty to safe, stable housing,” said Family Promise CEO Cheryl Schuch. “Every Little Bob plushie sold represents a family supported, a child given stability, and a step closer to ending family homelessness. We’re deeply grateful for Bob’s continued commitment and for the customers who turned a simple purchase into lasting impact.”

The funds were raised through Bob’s Plushies for Charity program in the second half of 2025, which donated $5 from every Little Bob plushie sold at participating locations to Family Promise.

The Little Bob plushie made a BIG impact for Family Promise during the campaign. Bob Kaufman, Bob’s Founder (center, top photo) visited a Bob’s store and posed with a plushie during the campaign and pictured in the bottom photo is the Family Promise team with Little Bob.

Bob’s is grateful to every guest who purchased a Little Bob plushie, supporting families experiencing homelessness and proving that even small purchases can make a big difference.

The donation held special significance as the Solon location is just minutes from Family Promise of Greater Cleveland, a local affiliate Bob’s had already supported through volunteer efforts last year at the culmination of our Café Collections for a Cause program. Bob’s team members volunteered their time to help prepare back-to-school supplies for children served by Family Promise.

Bob’s presented a donation to Family Promise for $37,000 for donations collected during their Café Collections for a Cause campaign in 2025, which included a dollar-for-dollar match from Bob’s as well as packed school supplies for children served by Family Promise of Greater Cleveland.

“The Little Bob plushies for charity program allowed our customers to be part of something truly meaningful,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Director of Communications, PR, and Community Outreach at Bob’s Discount Furniture. “Raising over $16,000 through plushie sales showed how collective generosity — one plushie at a time — could help families move closer to safe, stable housing.”

The plushies program built on Bob’s ongoing partnership with Family Promise, which previously included Café Collections for Cause fundraising and hands-on volunteer events. Together, these efforts reinforced Bob’s commitment to supporting Family Promise’s mission to prevent and end family homelessness across the country.

When Bob’s opens a new store, the celebration goes beyond ribbon cuttings — in fact the core of every store opening is about supporting organizations that serve the local communities where we do business.

At every grand opening, Bob’s awards two $2,500 Random Acts of Kindness donations: one to a nonprofit and one to a local school. These contributions support organizations that strengthen the community and help ensure students and neighbors have the resources they need to thrive.

This year alone, Bob’s will give more than $100,000 in RAK donations tied to new store openings, reinforcing that community support is just as important to helping guests turn the places they live into home that they love.

Kate Ostrander, Principal (right), and students: Donovan, John, Charlotte, Michael, and Peyton, accepted a $2.5K RAK donation during Bob’s grand opening f the Downers Grove, IL location on February 13 from Matt Scofield, Manager (left).

Whether it’s helping educational initiatives, or nonprofit organizations, Bob’s knows every new store we open is an opportunity to leave a positive footprint.

For several years, Bob’s has awarded twelve $1,000 donations to local nonprofits nominated by their guests and employees.

Since the program began, Bob’s has awarded over $100,000 to nonprofits that matter most to employees and guests!

The campaign recognized Hometown Heroes and underscores Bob’s commitment to honoring and supporting those who serve with generosity and gratitude.

Bob’s loves to amplify kindness any chance we can, and World Kindness Day has been the perfect occasion to showcase the many ways Bob’s employees care about each other and our guests! This past year On World Kindness Day (November 13), Bob’s teams across the country built on their culture of generosity with joyful surprises and gratitude-filled interactions.

Over the 2025 Holiday Season, Bob’s was privileged to partner once again with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF)—an organization that brings help, hope, and a reason to smile to New England cancer patients and their families—to deliver something simple and profound: comfort at home.

A Giving Tuesday That Went Even Further

In 2025, JAF’s Giving Tuesday campaign introduced a meaningful new twist: patient shopping sprees at local Bob’s stores—two in each New England state—while Bob’s tripled donations resulted in over $60,000 raised, with an additional $30,000 going directly to patients via the shopping sprees.

That spirit of generosity set the tone for the season that followed. Building on the success of the campaign, Bob’s welcomed 12 amazing individuals who are in treatment or remission for $2,500 shopping sprees, inviting each recipient to select furniture and home accents that could make everyday life a little easier and a lot more comforting during treatment.

A JAF guest, Jennifer, selected a comfy chair from our Manchester, CT location that she intends to read in.

“Bob’s Discount Furniture provided new furniture to 12 families, allowing them to experience the comfort of a well-furnished home at a time when any extra expense is challenging, as all their finances are directed towards cancer treatment and daily living costs. The families expressed their gratitude through heartfelt words and joyful smiles that they wore proudly.” said Jen Andruzzi, Joe Andruzzi Foundations President and CEO.

Why Home Matters

For patients navigating treatment, home is where rest and recovery happen. Over the years, our partnership with JAF has focused on very tangible ways to improve that environment, from donating mattresses and bedding to spotlighting patient stories that drive home the impact of the JAF and Bob’s partnership.

“Watching patients choose pieces that will support their comfort and recovery is incredibly powerful. We’re honored to work alongside the Joe Andruzzi Foundation to help create spaces that feel safe, calm, and truly like home during such a challenging time.” added Lindsay Ruszczyk, Bob’s Director of Community Outreach.

The Day Of Experience

During each shopping spree, Bob’s teammates welcomed patients and their families with warmth and low pressure guidance helping them choose items that matched their needs, treatment schedules, and living spaces. From supportive mattresses to cozy sectionals, durable recliners, and lighting that make a room feel calm, every selection was made with one goal: to give comfort and spark joy at home.

Bob’s Discount Furniture and the New York Giants have teamed up to furnish the home of a single-parent mom and first-time homeowner and her family just in time for the holidays.

Natalia Salazar was in the process of purchasing her first home in Little Ferry, New Jersey, just minutes away from MetLife Stadium, when she was surprised by New York Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke with a shopping spree to furnish her entire home at Bob’s Discount Furniture.

Bobby met Natalia and her daughters, Camilah,11, and Sofiyah,10, at Bob’s in Paramus, New Jersey. Together, they picked out brand-new furniture for their new home.

ILB Bobby Okereke (58) at Bob’s Discount Furniture

“To be involved in an event like this means a lot,” said Bobby. “I am proud to represent the Giants, to support Bob’s Discount Furniture and all the good work they are doing, and to give back to a deserving family like Natalia’s. I love playing football and I love the opportunity it gives me to help others.”

Bobby shared that his favorite part of the shopping trip was helping the sisters pick out furniture for their bedroom. “Deciding between a bunk bed and a regular bed…some hard gametime decisions being made,” he laughed.

With the help of New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC), Natalia purchased her first home, upgrading from a one-bedroom apartment she shared with her daughters, to a three-bedroom duplex home featuring a spacious yard for their pets. LISC-New Jersey worked with the New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) to support this first-time homeowner in the purchase, furnishing, and decor of this Little Ferry home.

“It means the world for us to move in, especially before the holidays,” said Natalia. “It’s life-changing for us, for sure.”

Thank you to our guests and New York Islanders fans for making our annual holiday toy drive a success! Bob’s and the Islanders teamed up to collect hundreds of toys to benefit the Little Saint Nick Foundation, which supports children receiving treatment in healthcare facilities.

Bob’s hosted toy drives starting in late November at more than fifteen stores across metro-New York and Long Island. To kick off the drives, New York Islanders Alumnus Matt Martin was onsite at Bob’s in Carle Place to greet guests who donated. Guests who donated toys at participating Bob’s stores had the opportunity to enter to win tickets to an Islanders game.

This holiday season, Bob’s is thrilled to support 12 worthy nonprofits during our annual 12 Days of Giving. What’s even better − we’ve partnered with Bob’s Charitable Foundation to DOUBLE our contributions this year! Each worthy charity selected will receive $2,000 for a total of $24,000 this year!

Thank you to our guests and employees who nominated so many charities to be considered! It was so hard to narrow down our list, but we’re humbled to give back to these nonprofits who are making such a big difference in the communities we serve by rescuing animals, mentoring youth, helping those facing illness, and more.

Monmouth County SPCA (New Jersey)

They currently house more than 100 dogs and 350 cats and are proud to share that they do not euthanize adoptable pets.

Nominated by: Alonso Garcia, Fleet Safety and Compliance Manager, Bob’s Discount Furniture

Students Run Chicago, which is a completely free program for high school-aged participants, challenges students to experience the benefits of goal setting, character development, and improved health by providing them with access to a comprehensive mentor-based running program. Volunteer running leaders, like Bob’s employee Alonso Garcia, are paired with teams of students to inspire them to push themselves to complete running races from 5Ks to 10Ks to half and/or full marathons. From April through October, students and mentors train together for major races such as the Chicago Rock and Roll Half-Marathon and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. For many participants, training for a race represents the first time they have committed to a specific goal. By providing them with an opportunity for incremental accomplishments and a supportive environment to help them on their way, SRC gives students the inspiration, excitement, and encouragement to accomplish anything in their sights. Established in 2014, when a small group of runner friends challenged 10 high school students to train for the 2014 Chicago Marathon, SRC is now committed to providing unrestricted access to the sport of running for high school-aged students within the Chicago area.

Nominated by: Adriana U., Community Member

Animal Farm Foundation’s mission is to meet the evolving needs of dogs and their communities. Founded in 1985 in Dutchess County, NY, AFF began as a horse rescue and currently encompasses 400 acres. AFF shifted focus to support “pit bull” dogs when founder Jane Berkey discovered that “pit bull” dog owners were not welcome in many communities and spaces. They have built their organization on the principle that all dogs are individuals. Relying on science-based information on animal behavior and public policy, AFF’s team offers regional and national initiatives that support dogs and the people who care for them in their communities. Current AFF programs include the Old Friends program, which is an onsite and foster-based program that gives senior dogs in shelters across the country an opportunity to live out their lives in a loving home. Additionally, they have an adoption program for younger dogs who enjoy farm life while awaiting new homes, and they offer a Family Pantry program to support pet food needs. Dogs may be AFF’s main mission, but they are also home to rescued and retired horses, cows, and other farm animals.

The Anne V. Graziani Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to a wide range of experiences—including live entertainment, streaming entertainment, stadium tours, and sporting events—for individuals undergoing cancer treatments. Founded by Rob Graziani, Guest Experience Specialist, Bob’s Discount Furniture, the AVG Fund was created in memory of his mother, Anne V. Graziani, who ultimately succumbed to metastatic breast cancer. Rob served as his mother’s caregiver during her twelve-year battle with cancer, and he describes the experience as his biggest honor. Before Anne passed away, they got to see one last baseball game together, and that inspired Rob to pay it forward through the creation of this foundation. AVG’s mission is to ensure that those who lack financial resources have an opportunity to have a memory-filled life and enjoy it with their friends and family. Anne lived a meaningful life, which started with the challenge of overcoming polio as a child. Through her career, she made time to give back, volunteering and supporting her community. The fund supports patients undergoing treatment at the Stonybrook Cancer Center by providing access to free entertainment events. Rob is driven by his passion to help others thrive and succeed. Rob is an avid lover of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the WWE, and has a passion for live music.

This year’s display donations will be contributed to support food banks in the Phoenix area. The Scary Christmas House made the 2025 Phoenix New Times list of “Best Christmas Lights.” Past accolades include being named a contender on the 2023 ABC show The Great Christmas Light Fight.

As 2025 draws to a close, Bob’s and Joe Gibbs Racing are proud to look back on the inspiring individuals featured in our Heroes at Home series — people who, through everyday kindness, service, and compassion, remind us that heroes live among us.

Below is a recap of the 11 incredible heroes we’ve honored this season, and how they are making a difference in their communities:

Daniel Norris (St. Mary’s County, MD) — a Marine Corps combat veteran, EMS-trained volunteer, and current EMS dispatch hopeful. Daniel devotes much of his post-service life to supporting fellow veterans, promoting mental-health awareness, and volunteering with children through community and faith-based programs. Read more about Daniel.

Amanda Smith (East Hartford, CT) — licensed professional counselor, mobile crisis clinician, and founder of youth nonprofit Game Changers Basketball Inc.. Amanda works tirelessly to support families facing mental-health challenges, homelessness, or financial hardship — offering hope, stability, and community connection. Read more about Amanda.

Dee Strauss (King George, VA) — High-school teacher, DECA advisor, and longtime community volunteer. Through her work, Dee models social responsibility for students and organizes outreach via local thrift stores and community festivals, providing practical help for families in need. Read more about Dee.

Kelsey Carter (San Angelo, TX) — ER nurse and former volunteer firefighter. Her dedication under pressure, compassion for patients, and commitment to her community are a powerful example of what it means to care for others in their most vulnerable moments. Read more about Kelsey.

Alistair Robertson (Kingsburg, CA) — A pediatric oncology social worker at Valley Children’s Hospital. For 33 years, Alistair has supported children and families facing cancer — offering emotional, social, and practical support through their journey. He also helped implement a survivorship scholarship program for childhood-cancer survivors, providing $1,000 scholarships to help them pursue their educational goals. Read more about Alistair.

Nicole Yarrow (Lowell, IN) — Executive Director of the Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation (NICK). After seeing firsthand how her family was helped when her son battled leukemia, Nicole helps other families cope with childhood cancer by providing financial aid, hospital essentials, and emotional support. Read more about Nicole.

Tony Apuzzi (Westchester County, NY) — A special-education teacher and founder of The Positivity Project. Tony uses the power of mentorship and positive role models to help his students achieve academic success and envision a better future. Read more about Tony.

Nicky Engel (Charlotte, NC) — A self-described “army brat”, Nicky Engel considered the entire world her hometown — now, she dedicates her time to her current hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina through her work as a volunteer coordinator with the Charlotte International Airport USO and as a voting poll worker. Read more about Nicky.

Katie Craft (Elkhart, IN) — Founder and executive director of Resonant Vibe, a nonprofit offering mentoring and music-based programs to youth. In response to the need for quality mentorship and access to creative outlets, Katie launched this organization to help young people build confidence, skills, and community. Read more about Katie.

Marina Elliot (Bunnlevel, NC) — After 30 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Marina Elliott continues to dedicate her life to helping others through volunteer work with the USO, local food pantries, and community organizations. She finds joy in giving back and lifting others’ spirits through simple acts of kindness. Marina believes in the power of community and that together, things will get better. Read more about Marina.

Each of their stories shows that heroism isn’t always about grand gestures — sometimes it’s about quietly showing up, offering compassion, uplifting others, and giving a little extra when it’s needed most.

Paying It Forward — Honoring Their Service with Giving

To celebrate these heroes and their commitment to community, Bob’s recently donated $11,000 ($1,000 for each hero) to USO, an organization who has supported our nation’s heroes for over 80 years.

We’re grateful to have such inspiring examples of service and kindness in the communities around our stores. Thank you to everyone who read, shared, or took part in the Heroes at Home series. We hope these stories remind you: every day, in big ways and small, we can all be heroes to someone.

Giving back has been part of Bob’s core values for over 30 years. We are committed to supporting the communities where we do business and we value our charitable partners who enable us to give back from coast to coast. We’re proud to share that this year we have donated hundreds of furniture items and mattresses, given over $100K in Random Act of Kindness donations to schools and non-profits, issued over $200K to support hunger relief, and volunteered over 500 combined hours to support community members in need. This Giving Tuesday, we want to say, “THANK YOU” to our community allies and our team for giving back the Bob’s way!

We are currently fundraising for Family Promise and for the USO to benefit North Carolina Operations in participating stores.

Bob’s knows new furniture is more than a refresh- it’s dignity and comfort for those who deserve it most. We’re proud to donate furnishings to those in need to help make houses into homes. Along with our community partners, we helped to furnish apartments for young adults transitioning out of homelessness or foster care, common areas for centers supporting homeless veterans, home-away-from-home spaces for our nation’s military and hundreds of beds for children to support a good night’s sleep.
