Bob’s will collect donations made in store cafes across America and match those donations dollar-for-dollar up to $75,000 so the more you give, the more Bob’s gives!</p><p>Since <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/bobs-discount-furniture-announces-partnership-with-operation-homefront/">partnering</a> with Operation Homefront in 2019, Bob’s has <a href="https://blog.mybobs.com/bobs-veterans-and-active-military-present-donation-to-operation-homefront/">contributed</a> more than $200,000 to support the organization’s programs and services available to military families including critical financial assistance, a variety of housing support, and meal assistance.</p><p>This year, donations from the partnership will support Operation Homefront’s newly launched Transitional Housing – (Apartments) program, which provides veterans with a rent/utilities free apartment for one year, while giving them the opportunity to utilize both employment and financial counselor services to help achieve stability and chart a path to long-term post military success.</p><p> </p><p>For many veterans and military families, transitioning to civilian life presents many obstacles, including finding an affordable place to live and securing employment to support themselves and their families, explains Operation Homefront.</p><p>“Bob’s Discount Furniture and Operation Homefront have a shared mission of supporting those in need with shelter,” shared Lindsay Ruszczyk, Director of Communications and Community Outreach. “We are honored to collect and match donations that will support a worthy program like the Transitional Housing (Apartments), which aims to give service members a path to post-military success.”</p><p>Bob’s directly supported the Transitional Housing (Apartments) program last year by helping to furnish an apartment for Felicite Gray, a Navy veteran and hew new baby.</p> </div>

<p>After seven years of service, which took her to Dubai, Singapore, Bahrain, and Hawaii, Felicite separated from the military with an honorable discharge at the end of her contract. Felicite, who is a new mother, needed to relocate from her station in San Diego, Calif., back to the east coast to be near family for support. Operation Homefront Transitional Housing (Apartments) assisted Felicite by providing an apartment and paid utilities for one year so she can focus on being a new mother and attend college.</p><p>“The apartment has been such a stress-reliever as a first-time mom with a newborn,” Felicite said. “It helped me get back to the east coast, and the program manager and resources have been amazing.”</p><p>Bob’s was honored to offer Felicite the opportunity to furnish her new space. She and her new baby, Aryah, were treated to a personal shopping experience at her local Bob’s where a store manager helped Felicite turn her new apartment into a home.</p> </div>

<p><strong>SUMMIT, New Jersey</strong> — Bob’s Discount Furniture recently raised $37,000 for Family Promise through their Café Collections for a Cause program. From April 1st through June 30th, customers at Bob’s stores nationwide made donations to Family Promise. At the end of the fundraising cycle, Bob’s matched the total funds raised dollar-for-dollar.</p><p>“When Bob’s teams up with our guests through our Café Collections for a Cause program, we are able to give back in a way that supports every community where we do business,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Bob’s Discount Furniture Communications and Community Outreach Director. “We are honored we could fundraise for our new partner, Family Promise, who is dedicated to our shared cause of serving and housing families in need.”</p><p>Bob’s generous donation will bolster Family Promise’s work supporting families through multiple programs, including eviction prevention, emergency shelter, stabilization, and housing services.</p><p>“We could not do the work that we do supporting families experiencing homelessness without Bob’s support and their generous donation of $37,000,” said Family Promise CEO Cheryl Schuch. “Like Family Promise, Bob’s is committed to ensuring everyone has a place to call home. Together, we will continue making a positive impact on households across the country.”</p><p> </p> </div>

<p>In addition to financial contributions, Bob’s also supports Family Promise through volunteerism. This week Bob’s employees from the Willow Grove, PA store volunteered their time to fix up the Family Promise of Montco PA facility through painting and gardening and presented Family Promise with the $37,000 check that will go a long way in transforming the lives of children and families.</p><p>“It was an honor to volunteer at the MontCo chapter of Family Promise and help prepare apartments for incoming families,” said Judy Troy, Bob’s Discount Furniture Regional Director. “This has been such a meaningful experience for the Bob’s team to see the impact partners like Family Promise have on the communities we serve.”</p> </div>
