<p>Manchester, CT – November 12, 2025 – <a href="https://www.mybobs.com/">Bob’s Discount Furniture</a>, one of the fastest growing omnichannel furniture retailers in the country, is proud to announce that the company has donated $214,000 to hunger relief organizations across the country this year and all-time giving has exceeded over $2 million dollars.</p>
<p>With the holiday season here, <a href="https://bobscares.org/">Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation</a> dispersed 214 donation checks worth $1,000 each to food assistance organizations nationwide near every Bob’s Discount Furniture store and distribution center.</p>
<p>“Bob’s Discount Furniture and its employees are proud to support food pantries in our communities. This year’s donations bring the total for our Annual Thanksgiving Initiative since inception in 2014 to <strong>over 2 million dollars</strong>,” said Bob Kaufman, president emeritus and co-founder of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We know that many people struggle to feed their families, and we’re hoping these donations help provide meals to those in need this holiday season.” </p>

<p>Bob’s Charitable Foundation has supported hunger relief organizations for over 10 years and is proud of many longstanding relationships with community organizations devoted to eradicating hunger. One such organization is the Community Services League (CSL) of Jackson County in Independence, Missouri.</p>
<p>“Bob’s Discount Furniture continues to show what it means to be a true community partner,” said Richard Betts, Chief Development Officer, Community Services League. “Their annual donations make a direct and measurable impact with the families we serve — helping keep shelves stocked and hope alive during times when it’s needed most.”</p>
<p>With over 100 years of service, CSL has grown into the largest and most comprehensive social services organization in the area with 13 locations, including eight food pantry sites. CSL supports more than 20,000 individuals each year through a wide range of essential programs and resources.</p>

<p>Other organizations also expressed gratitude for the food bank donations. Albert Hernandez, Chief Executive Officer of<a href="https://burbanktemporaryaidcenter.org/"> Burbank Temporary Aid Center</a>, stopped by Bob’s in Burbank, Ca., to say, “Thanks,” for the donation this year. Albert said the contribution would have a big impact for the agency, especially during this time. </p>

<p>Since 2022, Bob’s New York-based stores have collected food for <a href="https://www.cityharvest.org/">City Harvest</a>, which serves all five New York boroughs. Last year the group collected more than 500 pounds of food for the organization and are collecting food in participating stores now through January. In total, Bob’s stores have contributed 1,350 pounds of food to date.</p>

The rentals will be sourced through Zillow’s rental platform, which simplifies the property search process and provides comprehensive data on each listing. To help the families furnish their new homes, Bob’s Discount Furniture is contributing $15,000 in furnishings.</p>

<p>Currently, participating Bob’s Discount Furniture stores are supporting <a href="https://familypromise.org/">Family Promise</a> through the sale of Little Bob plushies. The <a href="https://www.mybobs.com/blog/little-bob-big-impact-bobs-discount-furniture-plushies-to-support-family-promise/">campaign</a> concludes at the end of the year. Bob’s is also supporting the USO to benefit North Carolina Operations through the sale of Little Bob plushies in all North Carolina locations through the end of year.</p><p>Bob’s plans to continue to sell Little Bob plushies for charity in all locations. The Plushies for Charity program runs congruently with Bob’s Café Collections for a Cause program, which Bob’s matches guests’ donations made in store cafés dollar-for-dollar for various non-profit organizations.</p> </div>

<p>Furniture Today has named Bob’s Discount Furniture Buyer, Christine Santostefano, a <a href="https://www.furnituretoday.com/furniture-people/40-under-40-2025-christine-santostefano-bobs-discount-furniture/">40 Under 40</a> in their recent People Issue.</p><p>At 34, Christine has been on a fast track at Bob’s growing from an entry level position of merchandising operations associate in 2019, to leading one of the most dynamic departments in merchandising as the Home Décor Buyer.</p><p>Most notably, Christine has spearheaded the first Bob’s marketplace, featuring home décor items, which debuted at Bob’s flagship experience location in Somerville, Massachusetts last fall. Bob’s is now testing smaller home décor vignettes in a few other store locations.</p><p>“Christine has more than earned this recognition from Furniture Today,” said Tracy Paccione, Vice President of Merchandising. “In her role at Bob’s, Christine drives success by anticipating market trends and developing forward-thinking strategies for Bob’s that propel the business ahead.”</p><p>As the Home Décor Buyer at Bob’s, Christine manages a wide range of categories including occasional chairs, rugs, lighting, wall décor, tabletop accessories, trees and floral, decorative pillows, top of bed, and small accent furniture.</p><p>“My focus is on continuously introducing fresh styles and trend-forward designs while ensuring great value to our customers,” shared Christine.</p><p>Christine said some of her major achievements since starting with Bob’s have been building Bob’s decorative pillow business and Bob’s top of bed category. </p><p>“Bob’s already offers an amazing assortment of pillows with our sofas, so I had to be creative in choosing decorative pillows in unique colors, shapes, and sizes to entice guests,” she said. “Last season I brought in novelty holiday decorative pillows in a candy-cane shape and a gingerbread cookie shape; they which were both fun and popular!”</p><p>In recent years, Bob’s experienced success with its Sofia living room collections and Christine shared that she brought that trend to home décor by introducing Sofia top of bed as a cash and carry stocked program – something Bob’s previously did not carry outside of the DTC program. The program quickly became a best-seller and exceeded expectations.</p><p>“I’ve always had a passion for product development, which has been a key driver in my career progression. I take pride in creating high-performance products that deliver exceptional value to our customers,” she shared. “Staying on top of the latest styles, color trends, and consumer preferences has been essential, along with building and maintaining strong partnerships with vendors. These experiences have all played a significant role in helping me grow into my current position.”</p><p>Additionally, Christine notes her eye for design and spotting trends have contributed to her expansion of Bob’s home décor offerings. She credits her mentors Carol Glaser, Bob’s Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer, and Tracy Paccione, for giving her runway and trust in bringing her visions for new products to life.</p><p>“Carol and Tracy are always super supportive and love to see what I’m coming up with,” said Christine. “Color is one area that I can try new things and when it works, the trend can be brought into larger categories, which they welcome and encourage.”</p><p>“Christine is an incredibly talented merchant with an eye for trend-right products and the skill to negotiate them at a value for our customers,” said Carol. “She excels at introducing fun and unique items and pulling them together in a way that our customers just love. Her keen sense of style, dedication to excellence, and strong vendor relationships make her an invaluable asset to our team.”</p> </div>

<p>Before coming to Bob’s, Christine held the position of account manager for apparel and skincare manufacturers. Switching from sales to buying was a significant career change, shared Christine.</p><p>“Finding the position at Bob’s that offered me the opportunity to explore and grow in product development is really what drove my decision to make a career shift,” she shared.</p><p>With this 40 Under 40 recognition, Christine has proven she is flourishing on this side of the business and growing alongside Bob’s, which is now the nation’s seventh largest furniture company.</p><p>Christine said with all the creativity she brings to her position and new items she tries, one of the most important factors is to remain true to Bob’s commitment to offer value without compromise in every category.</p><p>“One of my proudest accomplishments is making sure Bob’s value statement goes across all categories, especially home décor,” said Christine.</p><p>With more to accomplish in smaller home décor categories, Christine said, “I am grateful for this recognition, happy in my current role, and looking forward to continuing to grow and develop with Bob’s.”</p> </div>

<p>This summer, Bob’s Discount Furniture reached an incredible milestone: the opening of our 200th store! While our Wilmington, NC location has the official honor of being store 200, we wanted every location and every employee to understand the role they played in our journey to 200 stores and beyond. </p>
<p>Bob Discount Furniture’s President and CEO Bill Barton shared, “Whether an associate joined Bob’s last month or back in 1991, they are all part of this story. The 200th store milestone is a reminder that behind every delivery, every sale, every guest interaction, there are so many people who helped build Bob’s into what it is today.”</p>

Bob shared that while our growth has been incredible, the real secret to Bob’s success is simple: smart, dedicated employees who bring energy, creativity, and care to everything they do. Their commitment has built a company culture where value, fun, and giving back to our communities always come first. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Coming Full-Circle: Looking Back to Look Ahead</strong> </h2>
<p>As summer reached its unofficial end over Labor Day weekend, our 200-themed festivities also drew to a close but not before having one final celebration where it all began: <strong>Newington, Connecticut</strong>. The relocation and Grand Opening of our new Newington location wasn’t just another ribbon cutting—it was a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and the amazing people who got us here. The event, which featured a “Mini Museum of Bob’s History,” food trucks, and fun activities, was set up as a block party as our way of saying thank you to the people of Newington who helped Bob’s get its start. Several customers shared personal anecdotes with Bob Kaufman about their first piece of furniture from Bob’s and why they’ve stayed loyal to the brand throughout the past 30 years. </p>

<p>Since partnering in 2014, Bob’s has contributed over $600,000 to the Special Olympics.</p><p>“We’re so grateful to our guests for helping us to make this donation to Special Olympics,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Communications, Community Outreach and PR Director. “We are also so proud of our employees for volunteering at area events and participating in numerous Polar Plunge events, helping us to contribute is ways that connect us to the communities we serve.”</p><p>Special Olympics Minnesota hosted their Summer Games at the University of Minnesota in June and will be home to the USA Games in 2026.</p> </div>

Together, we were able to contribute $37,000 to help families in need through our Café Collections for a Cause program. Funds we’re raised in participating Bob’s <a href="https://www.mybobs.com/stores">store cafés</a> from April 1 through June 30 and matched dollar-for-dollar by Bob’s.</p><p>“Bob’s shares a vision with our partners at Family Promise that everyone deserves a home,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Director of Communications, PR, and Community Outreach at Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We applaud the work Family Promise is doing through chapters nationwide to help families and children find their way from homelessness to stable futures.”</p><p>Family Promise prevents and ends homelessness for families with children and helps them achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.</p><p>“We are deeply grateful for Bob’s continued generosity and commitment to our mission,” said Cheryl Schuch, CEO of Family Promise. “Their support will help families with children nationwide move beyond crisis and build lasting independence.”</p> </div>

In addition to making the donation, Bob’s volunteers from stores in the Cleveland area, contributed school supplies and packed backpacks for youth residents, just in time for the start of the new school year.</p><p>“Helping to pack school supplies for the youth served by Family Promise means so much to our team of volunteers,” said Adam Yagulli, Manager of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We know how important it is for children to feel supported, especially at the start of a new school year. We’re so grateful we can give back to our communities and neighbors in need.”</p><p>Bob’s has supported Family Promise as a Café Collections for a Cause partner since 2024 and is currently fundraising for the organization through the end of the year. <p>Children dashed across the football field to find their beds— each personalized for every child. New bedding was provided by the Patriots, personal care items were provided by <a href="https://www.hchygienehub.org/">Hope & Comfort</a>, and a plush teddy was provided by <a href="https://www.buildabear.com/">Build-A-Bear Workshop</a>. Bob’s also provided a Little Bob plushie for each child.</p>
<p>This year’s Bed-Zone Bash took place during the <a href="https://www.patriots.com/trainingcamp/">New England Patriots Training Camp</a>. Bob’s Discount Furniture, in partnership with the New England Patriots, has provided 800 beds to children in need since the event first took place in 2018.</p>

<p>She also noted how important supporting the community is to Bob’s. “It means so much to be surrounded by people who care deeply about our community and who believe, as we do, that every child deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep,” she said.</p>

<p>Before jumping on beds, playing games, and partaking in the many activities of the day, the children and families were treated to a surprise visit by Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft, as well as many players who spent time signing autographs, playing catch, and even competing in 50-yard dash races.</p>
<p>Attendees of the Bed-Zone Bash included children and families supported by and <a href="https://www.abedforeverychild.org/">A Bed for Every Child</a>, <a href="https://bridgeotw.org/">Bridge Over Troubled Waters</a>, <a href="https://helpfbms.org/">Father Bill’s & MainSpring</a>, and <a href="https://www.ellisearlylearning.org/">Ellis Early Learning</a>.</p>
<p>“This is so exciting for our families, specifically those who have recently been housed and are moving right out of a shelter” said Cherish Casey, Family Engagement Social Worker at Ellis Early Learning. “Their child is going to be so excited to have their own bed and be able to sleep comfortably.”</p> </div>
