(Manchester, CT) November 12, 2010 – Bob's Discount Furniture today announces the opening of its newest store location in Glendale, N.Y. now bringing the total to 40 stores located throughout New England, New Jersey and New York.  This latest opening comes shortly after Bob’s expanded its retail presence earlier this year with openings in Manhattan, Nesconset, Flushing, N.Y. and Secaucus, N.J.  

Bob’s Discount Furniture has always been dedicated to offering its customers great furniture at untouchable values.  In today’s economic environment, this focus on unbeatable value is increasingly attractive to consumers and has enabled the company to continue aggressive expansion in 2010.  The new store location in Glendale will bring 55 jobs to the local community, raising the total number of new jobs brought to the New York area up to 464 since the Manhattan, Flushing and Nesconset store openings earlier this year and the 2009 store openings in Yonkers, Poughkeepsie and Carle Place.

Grand opening festivities will kick-off at the new store location at 7225 Woodhaven Boulevard on Saturday, November 20th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony along with events and activities such as balloon sculpting and face painting which will run throughout the weekend.  Through its Bob’s Outreach program, Bob’s Discount Furniture along with NYC Council Member Karen Koslowitz have selected PS 175 The Lynn Gross Discovery School to receive a $5,000 donation during the ceremony  as part of the company’s continued efforts to support local education. In addition, the family of Richard Zirinsky, Sr. of Woodhaven Realty LLC, celebrating the arrival of their newest tenant, will be making a $5,000 donation through Bob’s Random Acts of Kindness campaign to PS 087 Middle Village.
