Bob's Opens New Location in New York

Bob's Opens 35th Store in Carle Place, Brings 85 New Jobs to Community and Donates $5,000 to Carle Place School District

Bob's, the 2008 Furniture Retailer of the Year, now with 35 stores throughout New England, New Jersey and New York, announces the opening of its newest store location in Carle Place, N.Y.  This latest opening comes shortly after Bob’s expanded its retail presence in May with openings in Yonkers and Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and with an opening last month in Woburn, M.A.  The retailer has plans to continue expansion throughout 2010.

Since the company’s inception, Bob’s Discount Furniture is committed to offering its customers great furniture at unbeatable prices.  This commitment to value has enabled Bob’s to continue to grow and thrive despite today’s economic realities.  The new store location in Carle Place, N.Y. is bringing 85 jobs to the local community and, in combination with the store openings in New York and Massachusetts earlier this year, Bob’s has brought 241 new employment opportunities to the communities in its footprint in 2009.  With the new Carle Place store, Bob’s will employ a total of 355 people throughout New York.

“We couldn’t be happier to open our new Carle Place store and offer another community our promise for quality furniture at everyday low prices,” said Bob Kaufman, president, Bob’s Discount Furniture.  “We have received such a pleasant welcome to the neighborhood and are looking forward to being a committed member of the business community.”

“We are truly excited to welcome Bob’s Discount Furniture into the Carle Place business community,” said North Hempstead District One Town Councilman Robert Troiano.  “We are also very thankful for the new jobs and a generous donation to our school district.” Grand opening festivities will kick-off at 175 Old Country Road on Thursday, October 8 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and events and activities will run throughout the Columbus Day weekend.  Through its Bob’s Outreach program, as part of entrance into the Carle Place community, Bob’s Discount Furniture will be making a $5,000 donation to the Carle Place School District run by Superintendent Michael Mahoney.
